This is one of my childhood memory, which still remains as a question mark in my thoughts. As a kid I was always taught “all religion is one”. I use to go temples or I can say (as part of practice) I was force to go to a temple. And today after fifteen years, India has become modern in every aspect of life. But today also I see a kid, directed to practice a certain belief/religion of which the kid is not aware of, they join their hands before a statue and even they don’t know WHY.?
the fact of indian culture is it's deep connection with the indian mythology. as a child when i had to practice worshipping various god's i never understood and i too had a question WHY? But i think as a person grows up and is taught about the existence of this world, of it's gravity and of it's individual being....there is some relationship with our previous world or mythology which later seems to make sense to some or we Indians just seem to follow it blindly!!
ReplyDeletei really like the way you have interpreted this..!! hope i did some justice in solving WHY?1

ReplyDeletei agree with your statement...and yes you completly did justice to the WHY..!!!
ReplyDeleteYou have the liberty to question this...and seek answers because your religion (Hinduism) gives you this liberty...and is non-binding on you. Unfortunately, the dominating religions on earth don't give such liberties or a choice to the individual to choose or do what to want to. Just for an example, under Sharia (official law in Iran, Yemen and Saudi Arabia), if you leave Islam, you are punishable by death. Now you see how lucky you are to be born here...and within the folds of this sort of an environment and family? Never forget this...
